Mind, body, and soul — these three elements shape how I see health, creativity, and everyday life. To me, balance is not a fixed state, but an ongoing process of awareness, adjustment, and connection to the world around us.
I graduated in 2015 from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography, Digital Cinema, and Graphic Art, along with a minor in Earth Science. Alongside formal education, I’ve always been drawn to the outdoors — especially weather patterns, climate systems, and astronomy — and I’ve never been afraid to get my hands dirty in the process of learning.
My connection to plants and natural systems began early in life through my mother’s flower gardens. I remember helping her choose plants and watching things like evening primrose open at night, or snapdragons and lily of the valley growing through the seasons. Those early experiences stayed with me in ways I didn’t fully understand at the time.
I did not grow up in a household that traditionally used herbs or plants as medicine. That path began later in life when I started racing sled dogs. Through my mentor and others in that community, I was introduced to homeopathics and natural remedies used in real working environments. That experience opened the door to a much deeper exploration of plant-based care and natural healing.
When my daughter was born, that interest became more personal. I began growing food for homemade baby meals, focusing on fresh, simple ingredients like strawberries, blueberries, carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower. Around the same time, she began struggling with eczema, which led me to research plants that could support skin health and comfort, including chamomile, thyme, rose, and others.
What started as a small garden for food slowly expanded into something much more intentional. Over time, it became a medicinal garden that supports both my family’s needs and my ongoing study of plant-based systems. I now grow and work with plants that support sleep, stress, pain relief, allergies, and overall balance. Along the way, I’ve spent hundreds of hours studying through books, courses, research, and direct hands-on experience with the plants themselves.
One thing I’ve learned through this process is that learning never really ends. My garden continues to teach me, and I continue to learn through observation, experimentation, and lived experience.
This philosophy carries through into all areas of my work.
My photography and video work focuses on capturing real moments as they naturally unfold — people, animals, and experiences documented with honesty and presence rather than forced direction. My animal wellness work developed through hands-on experience caring for sled dogs and understanding movement, behavior, and physical balance in living systems. My work with plants and natural products extends from the same foundation — learning through direct interaction, observation, and real-world use.
Each part of my work looks different on the surface, but all of it is connected by the same intention: to understand living systems through experience, and to create things that feel useful, honest, and grounded in reality.
I am not interested in extremes or judgment. We live in a world that includes both natural and synthetic systems, and my focus is not perfection — it is awareness, transparency, and informed choice. Everything I create is something I personally use, trust, and continue to test in real life with my family and animals.
If something doesn’t work for someone, I believe in adapting and learning together rather than assuming a single solution fits everyone.
At its core, my work is about observation, connection, and care — whether that is through a photograph, an animal session, a product, or an educational resource.
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Cinema with integrations in Photography and Graphic Design, and a minor in Earth Science from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan.
I am fully insured for animal wellness services, and I continue to expand my knowledge through ongoing study and hands-on experience across all areas of my work.
